Partial outage of web application

Some users were not able to access the web application because only an empty content area was shown after logging in.
After this has been reported to us on 10:00 we were able identify it quickly and rolled out a fix for that so that on 10:51 the web application showed the normal behaviour again.

This happened because of a change in the behaviour how to manage the users permissions.

We currently investigating how this could have been prevented by our automated test suite so that will not happen again.
